CHICAGO — Plus500 Futures has reduced its minimum account deposit from $75 to $10, making it easier for eligible U.S. customers to open and fund a futures trading account through its proprietary platform.
The reduction significantly lowers the initial funding requirement for traders interested in accessing regulated U.S. futures markets. Plus500 Futures provides access to exchange-traded futures contracts across several major asset classes, including equity indices, foreign exchange, commodities, cryptocurrencies, agriculture and interest rates.
The lower minimum deposit may be particularly appealing to beginners and new futures traders who want to explore regulated U.S. futures markets without committing a larger amount of capital upfront. It also provides greater flexibility for traders who prefer to start with a smaller initial deposit before adding additional funds over time.
However, the $10 minimum deposit should not be confused with the amount required to open or maintain a futures position. Margin requirements vary according to the contract being traded, and traders may need to deposit additional funds before placing a live trade.
In addition to live trading, Plus500 Futures offers a free, unlimited demo account with virtual funds, real-time market data and integrated charting tools. The demo environment enables users to practise futures trading, test platform features and build experience before transitioning to a live account.
The Plus500 Futures platform is available through web and mobile applications and includes tools such as stop-loss and take-profit orders, market alerts and access to contract and margin information. Users can trade Micro, E-mini and Standard futures contracts, subject to product availability and applicable account requirements.
Plus500 Futures currently advertises commissions starting from $0.49 per side for Micro contracts and $0.89 per side for Standard and E-mini contracts. Exchange, regulatory, clearing and other applicable fees may also apply.
Futures trading services for eligible U.S. customers are provided by Plus500US Financial Services LLC, a registered futures commission merchant and member of the National Futures Association. Customer funds are held in segregated accounts in accordance with applicable U.S. regulatory requirements.
By reducing its minimum deposit from $75 to $10, Plus500 Futures is lowering one of the initial barriers for individuals interested in learning about and accessing the futures market. Traders should nevertheless consider contract margins, position sizes and the risks associated with leveraged trading before funding an account or placing a trade.
Trading futures involves a substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for every investor.
