Japanese Airlines May be Headed for Bankruptcy

by GoLearn Forex

In the overnight session, the Nikkei fell by almost a percent amid concerns that Japan Airlines may be headed for bankruptcy. This follows a rather flat day on Wall Street as the DJIA closed down 1.67 points, to 10,545.41, marking its first loss in 7 sessions. There was very little data released yesterday. In the EUR zone, German CPI figures came in just above expectations at .8% while in the U.S, Consumer Confidence figures were higher for a second straight month.

The Dollar turned bid during the U.S session on Tuesday with only the NZD and AUD advancing. However, with loss on the Nikkei overnight expect those gains to be given back. The DXY was up slightly for the first time in 3 sessions to close at 77.831. Gold slid on Dollar strength giving up $10.47 to finish the day at 1,096.83. Oil continues to push higher gaining for a 5th straight day to close at 78.87.
