Editor’s Verdict

LHFX is what you get when two older offshore brokers, LonghornFX and EagleFX, are folded together and given a new regulatory setup. Today the broker trades through two licensed entities, Longhorn Ltd under the Mauritius FSC and LHFX SA under South Africa's FSCA, offering a single raw-spread account on MetaTrader 5 with $3-per-side commission, leverage to 1:500 and a $10 entry.

The pricing is the real draw. Spreads start at 0.0 pips on the majors with a flat $6 round-turn commission, and there are no deposit or withdrawal fees at all. That works out to around $6 to $7 all-in on a standard lot of EUR/USD, which is genuinely competitive, and LHFX publishes the commission openly rather than hiding the cost inside a wider spread.

Withdrawals at LHFX today are crypto-only. You can deposit by card or e-wallet, but your money comes back out in Bitcoin or a stablecoin, which won't suit everyone.

LHFX fits cost-focused, crypto-comfortable traders.

LHFX is a CFD broker built on a single, no-tiers account. Whether you deposit $10 or $10,000, you get the same raw spreads, the same $3-per-side commission, the same STP/ECN execution and full MetaTrader 5 access. There's no Bronze, Silver, Gold ladder to climb, which I like, it removes the usual upselling.

The cost model is the key advantage here. Spreads from 0.0 pips on majors, a flat $6 commission per round-turn lot, and nothing is charged on deposits or withdrawals. Leverage runs up to 1:500 on forex and gold, scaling down by asset class to 1:20 on individual shares. The instrument list covers 150-plus markets: 41 forex pairs, 72 share CFDs, around a dozen crypto CFDs, ten indices and five commodities.

LHFX Core Takeaways:

  • Pricing: Raw spreads from 0.0 pips plus a flat $3 per side ($6 round-turn). No deposit or withdrawal fees. A $10/month inactivity fee applies after extended dormancy.
  • Safety / Fund Protection: Two licensed entities: FSC Mauritius (GB23202204) and FSCA South Africa (FSP 52816). Funds are described as held in segregated accounts with cold storage protection for digital assets. No FCA or EU cover.
  • Platforms: MetaTrader 5 plus the LHFX Trade web terminal, on desktop and mobile. No MT4. Full EA support.
  • Withdrawals: Crypto-only, processed in roughly 20 minutes with zero fees. No bank-wire or card option.
  • Asset Range: 150+ instruments across forex, share CFDs, crypto, indices and commodities. No bonds, ETFs, futures or options.

LHFX Regulation & Safety

Knowing your money is safe is the first thing to settle. LHFX runs two regulated entities, but the entity you trade under matters more than the license count.

Is LHFX Legit and Safe?

LHFX is a regulated broker, with the qualifications that offshore regulation always carries. It operates as Longhorn Ltd in Mauritius, authorized by the Financial Services Commission as an Investment Dealer (license GB23202204, code SEC-2.1B), and as LHFX SA (Pty) Ltd in South Africa, an authorized Financial Service Provider under the FSCA (FSP 52816). Both licenses are real and verifiable, and the dual setup is a step up from the brands LHFX grew out of.

On fund safety, LHFX says client money is held in segregated bank accounts with cold storage protection for crypto, separate from its operating capital. Negative balance protection is referenced in the broker's FAQ, though the details aren't spelled out, so confirm it applies to your account. Neither the FSC nor the FSCA runs a retail compensation scheme comparable to the UK's FSCS, so if the firm failed, recovering funds would be difficult.

For a cost-driven trader who's comfortable with crypto and understands offshore risk, LHFX is usable. For anyone who needs the safety net of a top-tier regulator, or who's unsettled by the EagleFX chapter, it's a clear pass.

Who Should Trade with LHFX?

Suitability splits sharply by trader type. My honest read:

Type of Trader
Verdict
Why?
Scalpers & Day Traders
Recommended
Raw 0.0 pip spreads, $6 round-turn and STP/ECN execution suit high-frequency trading. Scalping is explicitly allowed.
Algo Traders & EA Users
Recommended
Expert Advisors run on MT5 with no restrictions. The flat commission is easy to model into a strategy.
Swing & Position Traders
Neutral
Pricing is fine, but unpublished swap rates and a CFD-only range limit longer-term portfolio planning.
Beginners
Neutral
$10 entry and a free demo lower the barrier, but 1:500 leverage, crypto-only withdrawals and the EagleFX history are a lot to take on early.
Money Managers
Not Recommended
No MAM, PAMM or copy-trading infrastructure is offered. Only a per-lot affiliate program.

Fees

LHFX competes hard on cost: raw spreads, one transparent commission, and nothing taken on deposits or withdrawals. The numbers stand up.

There's a single account, so pricing is the same for everyone. Spreads come from raw interbank pricing starting at 0.0 pips on the majors, with a flat $3 per side, $6 for the round-turn on a standard lot. Spreads are live and variable, so the exact figure moves with the market, but the commission never changes by volume or balance.

My Observation: At around $6 to $7 all-in on a standard EUR/USD lot, LHFX is one of the cheaper offshore brokers I've seen, close to what you'd pay at a raw-spread account with a top-tier broker, minus the top-tier protection. The zero-withdrawal fee is a genuine plus, just remember the only withdrawal route available is cryptocurrency.

Noteworthy:

  • Inactivity Fee: $10 per month, charged after an extended period with no trading activity. Disclosed on the fees page.
  • Swap Fees: Overnight swaps apply to leveraged positions held past rollover, but LHFX doesn't publish its rates. Swap-free Islamic accounts are available on request, replaced by a holding fee.
  • Transaction Fees: No deposit or withdrawal fees on any method. Crypto, cards, Skrill and Neteller all post free.
  • Currency Conversion: Wallets are held in USD, EUR or GBP base currencies. Conversion applies where your wallet currency differs from the instrument's pricing currency realized profit and loss, i.e. if you have an account in Euro and buy a US stock and make a profit in USD there will be a EURUSD conversion.

Overnight Swaps

LHFX charges overnight swaps on leveraged positions held past the daily rollover, the standard cost of carrying a CFD position overnight. As an MT5 broker it follows the usual triple-swap convention, applying three days of swap on one day each week to account for weekend settlement.

Swap-free Islamic accounts are available upon request for traders whose faith prohibits interest payments or charges. These replace the swap with a flat holding fee, and the FAQ confirms an Islamic account holding fee applies, so check the figure for the instruments you trade before switching.

SWAP value for each instrument is visible directly in MT5, so you can read the live rate before you hold a position. The tables below show the known spread and commission, with swap left to confirm in the platform.

LHFX gives you 150-plus instruments on one account, weighted towards forex and shares. There are 41 currency pairs from majors to exotics, 72 share CFDs spanning US and European names like Apple, Nvidia, LVMH and Volkswagen, around a dozen crypto CFDs including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana and XRP, ten indices and five commodities (gold, silver, platinum, WTI and Brent).

Everything trades as a CFD. There's no physical ownership, and no bonds, ETFs, futures or options. For a forex, metals or crypto trader the spread of markets is more than enough. For anyone wanting a genuine multi-asset portfolio under one roof, it's narrower than it first looks.

LHFX Leverage

Leverage is ‘tiered’ by asset class rather than by region, since both entities offer the same terms. Forex majors and gold reach 1:500, minors and indices 1:200, crypto 1:100, energy 1:50, and individual shares 1:20. The margin call sits at 100% and the stop-out at 50%, with positions from 0.01 lots up to 1,000 lots.

Maximum leverage of 1:500 is relatively high. There are no ESMA-style retail caps here because LHFX isn't EU or UK regulated. Used on a major pair, it lets $200 of margin control a $100,000 position, and a move of a fraction of a percent against you can clear the account. Treat the headline as a ceiling, not a target.

What should traders know about LHFX leverage?

  • Magnified Risk: At 1:500 a small adverse move can trigger a 50% stop-out and close your positions. Position sizing and stops matter more than the leverage on offer.
  • Capital Efficiency: High leverage frees up margin, useful for disciplined traders running tight risk, dangerous for everyone else.
  • Asset Limits: Leverage falls sharply outside FX and gold: 1:200 indices, 1:100 crypto, 1:50 energy, 1:20 shares. Check the cap on your instrument before sizing.
  • Margin Mechanics: Margin call at 100%, stop-out at 50%. Both are visible live in MT5, so you can monitor free margin as you trade.

Account Types

There's one account, and that's the whole point. LHFX deliberately avoids tiers, so every client gets raw spreads, $3-per-side commission, STP/ECN execution and full MT5 access from a $10 deposit. This is a big plus for me, keeping it simple is rare nowadays.

  • LHFX STP/ECN Account: $10 minimum, raw spreads from 0.0 pips, $3 per side, up to 1:500 leverage, 150+ instruments. Hedging, scalping and Expert Advisors are all allowed.

Managed & Specialist Accounts:

  • Swap-Free (Islamic): Available on request, with a holding fee replacing the overnight swap. Confirm the fee per instrument first.
  • MAM / PAMM: Not offered. There's no managed account infrastructure advertised.
  • Copy Trading: Not offered natively. The only partner scheme is the per-lot affiliate program.

Account Specification LHFX

My Tip: Open the demo first and run a couple of small live withdrawals before you commit any real size. The smartest due diligence you can do is prove the withdrawal pipe works for you at $50 before you trust it with $5,000.

LHFX Demo Account

LHFX offers a free MT5 demo with virtual funds, no deposit and no card needed. It mirrors the live account's raw spreads, instruments and STP/ECN execution, so it's a fair test of both the platform and the pricing. For a broker where the withdrawal method is the main question, the demo is a low-risk way to get comfortable with the platform before funding.

Trading Platforms

LHFX is MetaTrader 5 plus its own web terminal, and nothing else. There's no MT4, despite a few older third-party reviews still listing it, and no cTrader.

  • MetaTrader 5 (MT5): The core platform, on Windows, macOS, iOS and Android. Full Expert Advisor support, 21 timeframes, custom indicators and one-click trading.
  • LHFX Trade (Web MT5): A browser-based terminal for trading without a download, useful across devices.

Supporting Infrastructure:

  • Automated Trading: EAs and trading robots run on MT5 with no restrictions on the number you use.
  • VPS Hosting: Not advertised. Confirm with support if you need low-latency hosting for EAs.
  • Copy Trading: No native social or copy-trading integration.

What I Would Like LHFX to Add

The obvious one is a non-crypto withdrawal route. Letting clients deposit by card and Skrill but only withdraw in crypto is the single biggest friction point, and a bank-wire or card-refund option would remove most of the doubt. I'd also like to see published swap rates. An MT4 or cTrader option would also probably widen the appeal.

Research & Education

LHFX runs an Insights blog and a Learn section covering the basics, what forex is, how to trade it, what CFDs are, and an MT4-versus-MT5 explainer. It's enough to orient a beginner, and it's better signposted than many offshore brokers manage.

Beyond that it's basic. There's no structured academy, no video course library, no Trading Central or third-party research feed, and no integrated economic calendar of note. Experienced traders won't miss it. Newer traders hoping the broker will teach them the ropes will need to look elsewhere for the depth.

Customer Support

Support is one of LHFX's stronger operational points on paper, with two channels and round-the-clock cover.

  • Live Chat: Powered by LiveChat and advertised as 24/7 in multiple languages.
  • Email: help@lhfx.com for written queries and document submission.
  • Phone: No phone line is published.

LHFX cites a Trustpilot score of 4.4 out of 5 on its homepage. Third-party review sites are more divided, so verify the current Trustpilot rating yourself rather than taking the on-site figure at face value. I contacted support during this review, and the response rate was quick.

Bonuses and Promotions

LHFX runs deposit bonuses, the FAQ covers bonus codes and how deposit bonuses work, so there's a promotional element, with the usual trading-volume conditions that you should read before opting in. The bigger scheme is the affiliate program: $4 per lot on direct referrals, rising to around $5 per lot with sub-affiliates across four tiers, paid daily with no referral cap.

Opening an Account

Signing up is quick and fully online, LHFX says it takes about two minutes to open.

What should traders know about the LHFX account opening process?

  1. Sign Up: Create the account with your name, email and password.
  2. Verify: Upload a government-issued ID. Most verifications complete within a few hours.
  3. Fund & Trade: Deposit from $10 via Skrill, Neteller or crypto and place your first trade on MT5.

Wallets can be held in USD, EUR or GBP. A standard account can withdraw up to $1,000 a day without documents; completing KYC removes the daily cap. I like that you have the option of using a verified google account to set it up too.

Account Setup LHFX

Minimum Deposit

The minimum is $10 via Skrill or Neteller, and $20 for crypto and card deposits, confirmed on the broker's site. That's one of the lowest entry points around and well below the $100 to $200 many raw-spread brokers ask for. Combined with the $10 affiliate payout threshold and zero deposit fees, it's a low-commitment way to test the broker.

Payment Methods

LHFX funds through crypto, cards and two e-wallets, but the way out is narrower than the way in.

Deposits: Cryptocurrency (from $20), Visa and Mastercard plus Apple Pay and Google Pay (from $20, up to $20,000), Skrill and Neteller (from $10, up to $10,000). All instant, all fee-free.

Withdrawals: Cryptocurrency only, from $10, processed in under 20 minutes with zero fees. There's no bank-wire or card-refund option, so even if you deposit by card, you withdraw in crypto. This is the single most important practical point about LHFX.

Withdrawal options
  • Crypto Currency
  • Deposit options
  • Credit Cards
    Neteller
    Skrill
    Crypto Currency
  • Accepted Countries

LHFX doesn't accept clients resident in the United States, or any jurisdiction where its services would breach local law. It serves a broad international base across the rest of the world through the Mauritius and South African entities.

The broker is explicit that it isn't authorized by the FCA or any EU regulator. Know what protection you're giving up before funding an account.

    Deposits and Withdrawals

    • Zero Fees: No charge on any deposit or withdrawal, on any method.
    • Speed: Deposits are instant. Crypto withdrawals are processed in roughly 20 minutes, around the clock, including weekends.
    • Segregated & Cold-Stored Funds: Client money is described as held in segregated accounts with cold storage protection, separate from operating capital. Not independently verified.
    • Withdrawal Limitation: Withdrawals are crypto-only. A standard account is capped at $1,000 a day until KYC is completed, after which the cap is removed.

    Is LHFX a Good Broker?

On pricing and platform, LHFX delivers. Raw spreads from 0.0 pips, a flat $6 round-turn, zero funding fees, MT5 with full EA support and a $10 entry add up to a genuinely low-cost, no-nonsense trading environment. The single-account model and the fast crypto payouts are easy to like, and the move to dual FSC Mauritius and FSCA regulation is a real improvement on where these brands started.

The reservations are equally real. The EagleFX heritage brought withdrawal complaints and a regulator warning, and while the rebrand and licensing change the structure, they don't rewrite the history. Withdrawals being crypto-only is a hard limitation for anyone who isn't already set up for it. And offshore regulation, however legitimate, doesn't give UK or EU traders the compensation backstop they'd get at home.

Operationally it's slick: two-minute signup, low deposit, fast payouts, transparent commission and simple website and no confusing options. Whether that's enough depends entirely on how much weight you put on the track record and the withdrawal method.

    The Verdict:

LHFX is a low-cost, crypto-first offshore broker. For a cost-conscious, crypto-comfortable trader who tests withdrawals early and trades money they can afford to put at offshore risk, the pricing is hard to argue with. For anyone who needs bank-wire withdrawals, FCA protection or a clean history, it isn't the right home. Start small, verify the withdrawal method works for you, and size up once it's proven itself.
