STOCK.com ReviewSTOCK.com Review
** In early 2016 Stock.com merged with Trade.com which is another brand of Lead Capital Markets, the regulated parent company that provides these trading services. For more information please see our Trade.com review.
Stock.com is a brand name of Leadcapital Markets Ltd, a brokerage house licensed and regulated by CySec, compliant with the MiFID (EU) and registered with the regulatory bodies of all EU member states including, FCA(United Kingdom), AMF (France) and BaFin (Germany).
There is only one standard trading account at Stock.com which can be used for both web and mobile trading. This account provides the trader with a host of different features including one click executions, limit orders, quotes in real time, graphs and charts of time periods and technical indicators and tools.
In addition, this account offers several educational features that should help the trader reach success. Video tutorials and presentations, market news and daily analysis are available.
The only other account offered at Stock.com is the demo account. I am always pleased when brokers offer a demo account to their traders as this provides them with the opportunity to practice trading in a live account without risking any of their own funds. Rather they use virtual funds provided by the broker. Trading in a demo account also gives beginner traders the time to experience the art of Forex trading and to practice trading skills and trading strategies which will help them gain the experience they need to be a successful trader.
Traders using the demo account also have full access to video tutorials and eLearning.
The Stock.com website is simple to navigate. Each section is clearly set out and moving from the landing page to any of the other pages is really only a click on a tab. It is good to find a broker which outlines each of its section with a separate tab and when doing this review I didn’t have to spend much time searching for all the necessary information I was looking for. This certainly makes trading easy for both new traders and those with years of experience under their belt.
Stock.com is truly a unique broker. Immediately upon opening the website, viewers are greeted with in- depth news reports on the most relevant U.S. and global topics, each one accompanied by vivid and colorful images. There was so much data on the front page and it differed so much from any other site that I wondered at first when doing this review whether or not I had opened the right site.
Stock.com News Feed
As one can imagine from the amount of information appearing on the landing page, education is important at Stock.com and their educational resources are many. The beginner’s course includes presentations in topics such as basic Forex terms, Forex advantages, types of order, winning tactics and a full glossary of concepts.
Stock.com Educational Videos
There are plenty of presentations for the advanced trader as well. These encompass the world of global trading, trading as an art form, chance and risk, buying and selling and more.
Tutorials offer useful information on the installation and basics of the MT4 platform, as well as orders and the window, using order types and adding indicators to graphs.
There are additional videos on various trading tools such as market analysis, basic and advanced technical analysis and the psychology of trading.
Stock.com takes trading strategies seriously and they are taught in three different presentations. The beginners’ strategies include four different lessons—trend, tunnel, fractal and fishing strip. Since I never heard of the fishing strip strategy I registered for the video and watched the interesting and informative presentation. Registration was necessary for all the videos in the strategies section of the site. There is also an extensive eBook with useful trading tools, tips for successful trading, essential terms and concepts and more.
Like almost everything else on the Stock.com site, the asset page is far more than just the usual listing of available assets from which to choose. Each category is described separately and more information about specific trading conditions for each set of assets is clearly outlined. In addition, traders can click on the button for further video education for each asset discussed. For example, the Indices section presents two full paragraphs about the role of indices as an indicator of a region’s success and what the value of an index is dependent on.
The Forex section follows suit with two paragraphs of explanation of what Forex is all about and a description of its benefits and uses. Here too, trading conditions for Forex trading are listed and the ability to learn more about Forex is just a click away.
Bonds, commodities and stocks are the other assets available for trading at Stock.com.
Stock.com Symbol Overview
Withdrawals and deposits can be made in a variety of ways including by credit card, bank transfers and other payment options.
Stock.com is licensed and regulated by CySec in Cyprus and MiFID in the EU. It is also registered with the regulatory bodies of several EU member states including, FCA(United Kingdom), AMF (France) and BaFin (Germany). This is highly unusual as many Forex brokers are not regulated under even one regulatory organization and this feature makes a trader feel more confident about trading.
Customer support is available 24/5 in several languages for both standard and demo account holders via telephone only. I didn’t see Chat offered on the site when doing this Stock.com review which is most unusual. Most brokers offer Chat as their main means of customer support. Email contact is also available.
All in all I found Stock.com one of the most unusual brokers I have reviewed. Their focus on market news and education is impressive and I found the website to be interesting and informative.
- Highly Regulated
