Between understanding technical market fluctuations and determining how politics will affect the currency market to figuring out how to manage leverage and when to enter and exit for maximal profits, the Forex markets can be extremely confusing, and there can be just as much potential for loss as there is for gain. For this reason alone, many potential traders prefer to employ the services of an account manager rather than taking the risk into their own hands. Other potential traders find that they simply don’t have time to monitor the markets and to place the trades at the optimal time, and that it would be much simpler to have an expert who can trade on their behalf. It is precisely this service that I2 Investments – a modern alternative investment fund - claims to offer to traders worldwide (where available).

I2 Investments claims to have an extremely promising track record, broken down on a month-by-month basis since February 2014. The company offers an external audit of the combined performance of four numbered accounts by Thomas Service Holdings PTY LTD, an Australian accountant based in Mulgrave, Victoria. The website shows a verified track record of the performance on ForexVerified, MyFXBook, and FxStat as well.

I2 Investments primary operations are based in Austria. I2 Investments is certified by Broker Dealer Compliance, a private organization which ostensibly provides a stamp of approval on different financial brokers.

How I2 Investments Works

I2 Investments has about €23 million of client assets under management. They focus on trading what they term as “alternative investment classes”: Forex, Gold, Oil, other soft/hard commodities, and Bitcoin.

I2 Investments trades on behalf of its clients using a proprietary strategy their team of analysts developed over a twenty-year period.

Although they are obviously not giving away the full details of their trading strategy, they have confirmed that their news analysis is conducted based upon central bank inputs and major economic data releases, while their technical analysis is centered mostly upon studies of support and resistance. Both these methods, when conducted properly, can be extremely profitable. Forex prices are particularly prone to reverse at key support and resistance levels. The team of traders use order flow data and pattern recognition software but make trading decisions as humans: data based, but with a discretionary override. They claim to use relatively low leverage, and to execute between three and seven trades on an average day.

I2 Investments claims to also be a true hybrid STP brokerage firm as well as an asset manager. They apparently offer clients the opportunity to direct their own trading themselves through their proprietary trading platform. They claim to offer straight-through processing to prime global liquidity providers. They maintain segregated accounts and strict verification procedures for all new clients with their liquidity brokerage provider.

Their leadership team consists of a board of five key individuals, led by Mr. Jürgen Muller, the founder. They employ a medium sized team of analysts, account managers, software developers and administrative staff globally.

Account Types

I2 Investments offers three account types: a Silver account, requiring a minimum deposit of €3,000; a Gold Account, requiring a minimum deposit of €10,000; and a Diamond account, requiring a minimum deposit of €25,000. The Silver account carries a 15% performance fee on net profits from asset management, while the other two account types carry only a 10% performance fee. Gold and Diamond account types also offer personal account management and participation in trader team conference calls, as well as other items of increased personalized care and attention.

Results

The results claimed by I2 Investments are stellar: gains of over 500% (compounded) for each of the past three calendar years (2014 to 2016 inclusive), and only three losing months out of thirty-eight months. The worst draw-down was 12.73% and it lasted for only a single month. The average monthly return was 17.50% and the median monthly return was 18.79%.

Conclusions

These guys certainly have an interesting offering, and are one of the more exciting FX/Commodity Funds being offered online today to retail investors.
