Weekly Economic & Political Timeline - 7 February 2016

The coming week ahead is likely to be much quieter compared to the turmoil and volatility we have seen over recent weeks, as the overall news release agenda is exceptionally thin. There will be a few items of crucial U.S. economic data coming, but no central bank actions whatsoever. Additionally, the entire week is a public holiday in China, and will also be observed by Chinese communities around the globe. Monday is a public holiday in New Zealand and Thursday is a public holiday in Japan.

U.S. Dollar

The week begins for the Greenback on Wednesday with the Chair of the Fed testifying before the House and the release of Crude Oil Inventories data. On Thursday Yellen will continue her testimony and Unemployment Claims data will be released. Finally, Friday will see the release of Retail Sales and Preliminary UoM Consumer Sentiment data.

Euro

There is nothing due for the Euro this week except German Preliminary GDP data on Friday.

British Pound

There is nothing due for the Pound this week except Manufacturing Production data on Wednesday.

Australian Dollar

There is nothing due for the Aussie this week except the Governor of the RBA testifying before the House on Thursday.

New Zealand Dollar

Monday is a public holiday in New Zealand. There are no high-impact events due all week.

China

The entire week is a major public holiday in China.

Japanese Yen

Thursday is a public holiday in Japan. There are no high-impact events due all week.
