ISMarkets Review

IS Markets is the short form for IntelliSource Markets B.V., a company whose very logo proclaims that it offers “Institutional Prices for Retail Clients”. Many people are already aware that the Foreign Exchange (Forex) market is the largest financial market in the world. It is also one that appears to allow both institutions and individuals to trade currency pairs on a roughly equal footing.

As indicated above IS Markets’ mission is made fairly obvious by its website, yet its background history is not found there at all. Two links at the top of the page let us know that the company operates out of the Netherlands and also Nevis, B.V. I. (British Virgin Islands). This is nice to know, but a bit more history might also help.

IS Markets’ services include a second tier prime broker service. We are assured that the company has relationships with some of the largest banks currently trading in Forex as well. The company also offers retail trading services. The website clearly spells out the minimum amounts required of a retail trader and a margin rate on Forex accounts of 70%. A Standard Account lot is US$100,000.

If a client has Forex trading experience or knowledge this sort of disclosure or candor is refreshing and somewhat reassuring. IS Markets uses MetaTrader 4 as its platform, which covers all brokerage and trading activities at Forex. Other web-based brokers use that platform as well.

A special section of the website labeled EDUCATION provides a good summary of the basics of Forex trading. An extensive reading list is provided for further study and a glossary is available at the website for instant definitions of Forex terms.
