It is that region’s market leader in securities brokerage, asset management, investment banking, private equity, and research services. Its self-description emphasizes innovation and dedicated client service as corporate ideals.
EFG-Hermes clients include governments and corporations as well as institutional and individual investors. The firm can be found listed on both the Egyptian and London stock exchanges. As of 2008 its market capitalization exceeded US$ 3.5 billion.

The company’s self reported record of success in all the areas it serves is worth noting. For the most part so is its website. It was, however, somewhat surprising to following the links under “SECURITIES BROKERAGE” to “Become A Client” and further to “Institutional” only to find the words “Under Construction” a similar link to “Individual” produced a similar “Under Construction” notice. We are in the 21^st century and these sorts of notifications are troubling when found on the website run by firm with a market capitalization that exceeds US$ 3.5 billion.
EFG-Hermes employs over 880 people from more than 30 nationalities and services clients from 13 offices across the region. Perhaps a little more attention to facilitating new clients is order for an otherwise impressive operation. Its performance, as evidenced by countless awards in all areas of Middle East investment activity is impressive indeed.
